Light Show

This week the city of Odense hosted a festival honoring Hans Christian Anderson.  There have been plays, street performers, concerts and one of the most spectacular light shows I have every seen.

There were several venues built just for this week long event.  One was in the square where the farmer's market is held each week.

There was another built beside St. Kund's church for Concerts.

There were street performers

And 3D sidewalk art (in this case, ROAD art)

In the city square there were performances

And a GIANT marionette

But the best was the light show.  From the rooftop of the bank, a 3D light show was projected onto the City Hall building.

This is the building in the daylight

It started off slowly, just lights on the building moving in time to the music playing

And then the building started to transform into other shapes and buildings

Then a building in the winter, covered in snow

Then it was on fire

And then library shelves, filled with books

Hans Christian Anderson even made an appearance

At the end, a trumpet player on the rooftop (in the spotlight on the right) played "In Denmark I was Born", and the words to the song were projected on the building.  Thousands of people in the crowd sang.  The entire show was spectacular!
